Creating a simple graphic album cover.

I'm not a big photo album person, because I rarely find ones that I like. I know what you will tell me, and you're right - instead of complaining, I should make my own. I like the haphazard look of a lot of the albums I'm seeing these days, including this one from Elise. Happiness wall hanging.

I love mixed media pieces with a lot of character - and there is so much that I love about this "happiness"  piece from Mitra. I love the wood background with Mod Podge and sparkle . . . the kite . . . the layers behind the house . . . the tree with buttons. I also love the overall shape which is more interesting than a standard square frame. She definitely nailed it, now I just have to convince her to send it to me! Haha! Cute lil' scrappy layout.

I met Suzy of what you see is what you get on Facebook, and I have to say that I almost peed when I saw her layout. The colors, the flowers, the letters. . . it all works for me. I know it's hard to tell, but she seals her layouts with Mod Podge, and in this case she did it with Mod Podge Glitter. Now I'm in big trouble, because I'm going to have to shop at the places she's listed in her blog entry for supplies so that I can be just like Suzy. I like to include scrapbook layouts every now and again because they are such a labor of love for those who do them - and then they come out so beautifully just like the one above by Mel of Mel Stampz. Enjoy! card makes me happy.

I've never been a big card maker or scrapbooker, but I'm becoming more sentimental in my old age. Kelly Marie from Lawn Fawn reminds us (me) that Mod Podge can be used to glue and seal paper crafts. Kelly's Enjoy! card has inspired me to make some . . . I forgot cards could be this cute! Now is the perfect time given that I still have a few thank yous to send out from my birthday (better late than never). Paper Mod Podge, for those who don't know, is archival safe - so Mod Podge away and don't worry about yellowing! A Mod Podge card made with bling.

"Amy," you say, "we like glitter." Guess what faithful Podgers - I bring you some! Actually it's not me that's bringing it, but Tresa from Fabulously Artsy. She's a very talented artist also known by the moniker "The Stamp Goddess." She's great with stamps, which I think is awesome because I am not. Butterfly project that makes me want more punches.

I've recently started to understand why people love punches. They make SHAPES and LOTS of them. Just like this butterfly embellishment by Junie Moon above. She did it for a Holocaust Museum exhibit, which is pretty cool. After I saw this project, I purchase this punch and this one too. And OMG - look at this one!

June was kind enough to provide a tutorial for her fanciful butterfly, and you can find it here. She even has templates! If you have punches (like I now do) and a paper stash (I know you do!) then you too can create something similar. The bonus? You put it together with Mod Podge, and all is well.

A flower embellishment tutorial.

I'm going to have to start a production line in my apartment to make these delightful flower embellishments designed by Theresa at Sunshine Memories. I'm kind of serious, because I think these are awesome and I can image them on many things: frames, memo boards, the wall, my dogs. . . everywhere.

I especially love these because I have everything to make them, if only I can find my Bulldog mini stapler somewhere in Mod Podge Command Central. But my missing stapler shouldn't stop you - visit here for Theresa's tutorial, and look for something inspired by Theresa from me very soon.

Inspiration magnet board that you need for your craft room.

I've told you that one day I will have a large craft room. Besides the umpteen million other things I've mentioned, I also want a magnetic inspiration board in it. On my desk. Which will certainly be neat and organized, much unlike my current desk.

Anyhoo, I found this project on The Gal Blog, a cute little scrappy blog with very fun projects. Designer Erin from It's a Red Red World is the creator, and she did a fantabulous job layering and gluing. Isn't it delightful? Please visit here for the post on this project. Mod Podge fabric embellishment tutorial.

I recently happened upon an interview with Holly Hanks - a Label Tulip Girl. Label Tulip is a delightful little scrapbooking club with monthly kits, and Holly Hanks is one of their designers. This sneak peek of one of her layouts had me interested:

Springtime canvas.

One of my goals in the next month or so is to do a Mod Podge canvas. Can you believe I haven't done one yet??? It's true. I focus so much on furniture and accessories that I have neglected the canvas. When I find projects like the one above, I realize I need to get on the stick. I love paper pieced projects.

Deborah M. from Scrapbooks Plus Design Team did this project; she was featured in the month of April. See the blog entry on the project here. Her inspiration? A class called "Paper Piecing Made Easy" by Kelli Crowe at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Deborah used her method to draw and cut out the paper pieces. Everything is adhered to the canvas using Mod Podge. The class is inexpensive and can be taken online, so check it out!

Some final tips? Collect your favorite coordinating scrapbooking papers, paint (if you don't want the background white) and embellishments to go to town on a canvas. Bring out the buttons and ribbon in your stash - or what about glitter? Deborah even suggested using Glimmer Mist to embellish, which is a perfect idea. I'd love to see what kind of canvas you can come up with. I'll share mine soon - I promise!

A home sweet home plaque.

I constantly mention on this blog that I have a huge stash of craft goodies, and it is nice to know that I am not the only one. I'm a little embarrassed by it (oh the money spent) but yet a little proud of it at the same time (look at all of my cool crafty supplies). It does a me good when I can use those crafting goodies to make something, especially with Mod Podge. Today's project by Carrie does just that a Home Sweet Home plaque in one of my favorite color combinations - orange-y and black. Yes, I love Halloween. I also love all of the little details on this plaque. This is a great example of using stash supplies to their fullest!

Scottie dog "best friend" wall plaque.

I love dogs. I have three of them, so I'd better, right? Yes, I have three dogs - Roxie the pug, Nellie the pug and Walker the pomeranian. All three of them are rescues who found their way to me, and they are three of my favorite "people" in the world. I like to do crafts to commemorate my furry pals, just like the wall plaque from the Pink Persimmon blog above.

The wall plaque was designed by guest artist Lisa Zappa for Pink Persimmon, using PP scottie dog stamps. The paper was adhered to the plaque and sealed with Mod Podge, and then Lisa embellished with some really fun accoutrements. Visit here to learn more about this project. Mod Podge can also be used for fun card and scrapbooking projects.

I'm going to tell you up front that I am not a scrapbooker or card maker.  I was at the end of the line when the ability to do precision detail work was handed out.  I laugh at the thought of myself sitting with tweezers and assembling something.  The tweezers would eventually go airborne.

I'm also going to tell you that I'm very appreciative of people that can do it - I have the utmost respect for them.  I like it when people can do what I cannot because it makes the world a more interesting place.  Mel Stampz is one of those people, and she creates those beautiful detailed projects, like the one pictured above.

I'd like you to visit her site because she's talented, but also because she uses a lot of Mod Podge for embossing and fun stuff like that.  Fun stuff that results in very amazing cards, for instance.  See how she made the card above here, and search her blog for some other fun techniques to improve your card making and scrapbooking.  Cheers!
